In writing this book I hope to share my enthusiasm for basketry and my particular interest, soft basketry, which involves working with plants that are easier on the hands than willow. As a botanist and gardener I am  keen to grow my own plants and those suitable for basket-making are often very interesting and attractive plants in their own right.

All techniques are comprehensively illustrated, taking the maker through each basket step by step. At the start of each section there is a gallery to give an idea of the nature of each basket and to act as inspiration for your own designs.
